Carré Windsor

Carré Windsor is part of a residential development located in the heart of downtown Montréal. Designed to offer residents a complete living experience, the building features a variety of shared amenities dedicated to work, relaxation, and social gatherings.

Located on the 11th floor, the featured space is one of these shared areas. It consists of three rooms connected by a central corridor and opening onto a common terrace. At each end, two lounge areas equipped with a kitchen and island encourage social interaction, while a central room with a fireplace provides a quieter, more intimate atmosphere.

To maximize flexibility, two G500P parallel-stacking glass operable partitions allow the space to be reconfigured as needed. When open, they connect all three rooms to create one large common area. When closed, each room can function independently.

The proximity of a fitness room and a children’s play area highlighted the importance of being able to separate spaces according to occupancy levels and ongoing activities. By helping to limit sound transmission between areas, the partitions contribute to a more comfortable and enjoyable environment, even when multiple activities are taking place simultaneously.

The glass panels feature a textured finish that allows natural light to flow through the space while maintaining a degree of privacy. Differences in daylight levels between the rooms subtly influence the perception of the space: from the brighter rooms at either end, the central room appears more discreet, while from the central room, the adjacent spaces remain visible.

Particular attention was also given to the integration of the system within the interior design. The recessed handles feature a black metallic finish reminiscent of black anodized aluminum, complementing both the frames and the surrounding light fixtures. When opened, the panels stack neatly within a wood-clad storage pocket, allowing the system to visually disappear when not in use.

On a day-to-day basis, the simplicity of the G500P system allows residents to reconfigure the space quickly and effortlessly. The panels glide smoothly and can be opened or closed as needed, allowing the rooms to function together or independently within moments.
