At the Ray-Mont Logistics headquarters, a central space brings together an auditorium and a cafeteria. Designed by Lemay, the project opens onto the Lachine Canal within a distinctly industrial setting, where spaces are intended to accommodate a range of everyday uses.
A movable acoustic partition structures the space. It allows configurations to shift as needed, redefining the relationship between the two zones without prescribing a fixed use.
Deployed, it establishes a clear separation between the auditorium and the cafeteria, enabling simultaneous activities. Retracted, it releases a continuous volume suited to gatherings, events, and larger collective moments.
The treatment of the partition aligns with the project’s overall language. On the cafeteria side, the finish integrates with the surrounding tones and material palette, contributing to a cohesive spatial reading.
On the auditorium side, the white panels are used as integrated writing surfaces. They extend the functions of presentations and workshops by providing a simple, immediate support, without the need for additional elements.
In line with the project’s emphasis on flexibility and innovation, the partition, developed by Corflex, supports the evolving use of the space and enables a range of configurations over time.
